Kokkinos Pirgos


67 kilometers South West of Heraklion there is this small village called Kokkinos Pirgos. The name translates to red castle and it is considered that the village got this name from an old tower that existed there and was made with red soil. If you are in its long and sandy beach you can see the two small uninhabited islands Paximadia which from this location they look as one island
