Spinalonga's history is not just one more tale of humanity's monstrosity, an Auschwitz for the cursed or a manifestation of society fear. It's mostly a story of hope, a story of affection between those that have no future and those that deny the social norms, but most of all it is a story of love and the desire to live and struggle for what is right. It's the story of miss Tasia's husband that never left her side and stay with her on the island, the story of miss Fani, that she couldn't left her ill husband but lived with him in the leprosy hospital and the story of Eleni, a nurse that decided to inject the blood of her leper husband into her veins as she couldn't live apart from him.
